The Idaho Legislature set aside the week of May 3rd through the 7th as Public Employee Recognition Week. I fully support the concept, but would like to think this appreciation extends throughout the entire year.
What you do to make transportation easier and safer for all Idahoans should be recognized every day, every week, all year long.
I recently started visiting the districts, divisions and sections to personally meet each of you. I have been extended a warm and gracious welcome and I have personally witnessed the many good things you are doing. I look forward to meeting the rest of you in the weeks ahead.
Until then, please accept my sincere thanks for the great job you are doing. Every employee at ITD is important. Every job contributes to our success.
We need your hard work and commitment to be successful. Together we will turn the Idaho Transportation Department into a national leader. It’s an ambitious goal, but based on what I’ve seen so far, it is within our reach.
I hope you will participate in the employee appreciation activities this week. You deserve the special attention.
