Tom Haynes' picture featured in AASHTO 2010 calendar
Still in the market for a 2010 Calendar? We found one worth at least a peek. In this year’s calendar published by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officers (AASHTO), our own Tom Haynes, District 3 construction manager, Residency 4, is featured for the month of December. (Better check with him first before calling Tom “Mr. December!”)
The picture is of Tom getting ready to go six feet underwater to caulk along replacement concrete for a bridge at the southern end of Cascade last winter. It was submitted by ITD photographer Mark Hall for AASHTO’s “Faces in the Crowd” project. Mark received recognition for several of his photographs, including this one, at the National Transportation Public Affairs Workshop (NTPAW) in St. Louis last fall.
When asked for a comment, Tom wryly replied, “Autographs are $10.” Hey, in this economy, who can blame him? Too bad AASHTO doesn’t publish a swimsuit edition. He possibly could ask for more if he were wearing something a bit more revealing.
Here’s a link to the AASHTO Bookstore where you can buy the calendar. The cost is $16 for members and $20 for non-members:
