It has been a privilege to represent each of you the past few months as Acting Director. I appreciate all that you have done to make the department’s efforts a success during this period. I know you will do the same for Brian Ness when he comes on board in a few weeks.
Each of you knows well the challenges we faced the past year. We have been asked to meet continually increasing demands, and your response has been incredible. We are engaged in one of our most ambitious construction periods in the history of the department. Our many accomplishments and the great service to Idaho citizens are the direct result of your willingness to go the extra mile. We are also becoming better positioned to gauge the results of your work and to put into perspective the superior quality of ITD service.
On behalf of our executive team and the transportation board, I want to let you know how much I appreciate your efforts. May we extend that dedication and enthusiasm into 2010, and may our successes be even greater in the year to come.
I hope all of you have a wonderful Christmas. Take time to enjoy your family and friends. If you travel for the holidays, please be careful so we can usher in a new year together. I look forward to the great things that 2010 will bring.
