This year’s workshop, “Making Cents of It All,” will take place at a new venue, according to organizer Connie Lane-Porter. The all-day event will be Thursday, Sept. 10, at The Courtyard by Marriott, 1789 South Eagle Road, Meridian. Take theEagle exit from Interstate 84 and drive south past Overland Road.
Rooms are available for $79 per night. Please mention the ITD Administrative Workshop when making reservations to receive the conference rate. The hotel provides free transportation to and from the Boise Airport for those arriving by plane.
The 21st annual event will begin at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at 4:30 p.m., and focuses on “the ITD World.”
Speakers tentatively include acting ITD Director Scott Stokes and representatives from the District Emergency Response Unit, HQ Chemical Lab, the HQ Materials Lab and Aeronautics.
“This year, we are proud to present the ‘(Human Resource Services) Panel – Ask your HR representatives the questions you’ve never had the opportunity to ask before,’ ” explains Lane-Porter. “There are a number of new people in HRS this year.”
Panel members will include: Mary Harker, HRS Manager; Marshall Sucher, Compensation Specialist; Ken Angell , Sr. HRS Specialist-Employee Relations; Stephanie Miller-Sayegh, Training Specialist; Mark Vachon, Training Specialist; LeAnn Stephens, HRS Specialist-Recruitment/Drug and Alcohol; and Isela Guitierrez, HRS Associate.
Lane-Porter asks attendees to prepare their questions in advance for the HRS panel.
Door prize donations, which will be solicited only from internal sources this year, also are due by Sept. 4. To contribute items that can be given away at the workshop, contact one of the following:
Trish Taylor, Right-of-Way
Janie Stilwell, Headquarters Annex
Sandy Harris, Business and Support Management
Elise Rising, Division of Motor Vehicles
Jackie Lynskey, Enterprise Technology Services

“It is very rewarding to recognize our administrative staff who are dedicated to supporting Idaho every day,” Lane-Porter said. “One of the successful ways of supporting our staff is through some type of door prize, be it something someone has made, a gift certificate, or anything that conveys your appreciation for those fabulous staff members.
“Another option is a small token for the goodie bags that are provided to all participants. This year, we will be taking care of everything ‘in house…’ ”
