Key Ada, Canyon county DMV offices to relocate
Several offices in Ada and Canyon counties that provide motor vehicles and driver's license services will move to new locations this month, ending a long-time presence at their current sites.
The Ada County Driver Licensing and Motor Vehicle offices at 7190 Barrister Drive will move to 400 N. Benjamin Lane, between West Emerald and West Westpark streets. Doors will open at the new location at 8 a.m., Monday, April 20. The office on Barrister, at the Vernon L. Bisterfeld Public Safety Building, will close permanently today (April 17).
The Driver’s Licensing office in Meridian (1769 N. Lakes Ave. near Fairview Ave.) also will close today and reopen at 400 N. Benjamin on Monday, April 20.
The Assessor’s Motor Vehicle office, providing vehicle registrations and titles, will continue to operate at the North Lakes Avenue location in Meridian.
Services related to motor vehicles will continue to be available at:
190 E. Front, Ada County Courthouse
1769 N. Lakes Ave. Suite 100, Meridian
9115 Chinden, Suite 103, Garden City
Star City Hall, 10769 W. State St., Star
The restructuring is part of an ongoing initiative to make popular county services more accessible to Ada County residents, according to an Ada County announcement. The Benjamin Lane facility is conveniently located in a well-traveled area of western Ada County and will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekdays (except for holidays).
Services include vehicle registrations, in-state and out-of-state titling, parks and recreation vehicle registrations and VIN (vehicle identification number) inspections. The new location has free parking for about 300 vehicles.
