Savory tradition: D-6 employees sit down to celebrate
A popular tradition at District 6 is the employee benefit luncheon each spring and fall.
Employees from around the district gather to eat and visit in a relaxed setting.
Officials started the event 25 years ago as a way to recognize employee service. Luncheons generally feature all-you-can-eat buffets – which employees typically take full advantage of – courtesy of the Employee Benefit Fund.
The only downside of the event is staying awake during the afternoon after consuming mounds of delicious food. Life is tough.
