An administrative workshop born nearly two decades ago will encourage professional development and internal networking this fall in Boise.
The annual workshop is scheduled for Sept. 27 at the Nazareth Center. This year’s theme is “Spread Your Wings,” and focuses on helping ITD administrative staff expand their career, according to members of the organizing committee.
To make this workshop a success and rewarding experience for all participants organizers ask for door prizes/donations of a homemade or purchased item, says workshop chairperson Carla Anderson, Right of Way administrative assistant. To contribute, contact one of the following:
The workshop will begin with registration and refreshments from 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at the retreat center. Anderson will initiate the formal program with a welcome and introduction of ITD Director Pam Lowe.
The draft agenda, which continues to evolve, includes presentations by Tricia Canaday of the Idaho State Historical Society; Mary Hunter, seatbelt coordinator for OHOS; Kathleen Slinger, Bridge Inspection; and Monte Tish, Materials, Birds of Prey.
Other sessions on the preliminary program include a presentation by the ITD traffic/sign shop, information about breast cancer awareness by a St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center representative and a team-building activity.
The workshop schedule is subject to change.
As part of the workshop, organizers want to collect and print a book of favorite recipes. Submitted favorites can be e-mailed to Inez Hopkins, email@example.com. The deadline for submitting recipes is Aug. 17.
A noon luncheon will feature a taco bar with salad and fruit cobbler. Attendees should note any special dietary needs on their advance registration. The meal cost of $10.50 should be deducted from state-paid per diem for employees who travel from outside District 3.
Rooms have been blocked out at the AmeriSuites, 925 N. Milwaukee in Boise. Please request the government rate and direct billing. Reservations can be made at (208) 375-1200.
