Benefited ITD employees have the opportunity to purchase optional term life insurance at group rates during the annual NCPERS open enrollment period, from Sept. 1 through Nov. 30.
The Voluntary Group Life Plan is underwritten by the Prudential Insurance Company of America and is administered by American Administrative Group, Inc.
The life insurance plan is designed to supplement other life insurance employees may already have through the benefit program or any insurance already purchased on their own. It gives employees the opportunity to purchase term life insurance with no medical evidence requirements. The monthly cost remains the same regardless of age.
Headquarters employees who are interested in obtaining more information about the NCPERS open enrollment option should contact Human Resources for a brochure. District employees should contact their district administration office.
Employees who choose not to enroll by Nov. 30 will not have another opportunity until the next open enrollment period. Those who are currently on the optional insurance plan do not need to re-enroll.
Note: This is not an opportunity to switch from the $9 plan to the $12 plan or from the $12 plan to the $16 plan.
