ITD employees who choose to participate in a supplemental life insurance plan through the state’s provider will have an opportunity to add additional coverage during the NCPERS open enrollment period, Sept. 1-Nov. 30.
The optional term life insurance option is available to all benefited ITD employees at a special group rate. The Voluntary Group Life Plan is underwritten by the Prudential Insurance Company of America and is administered by Gallagher Benefits Administrators, Inc.
The life insurance plan is designed to supplement other life insurance you may already have through our benefit program or any insurance you may have already purchased on your own. It gives you the opportunity to purchase term life insurance with no medical evidence requirements. The monthly cost remains the same regardless of your age.
Eligible ITD employees working at Headquarters who want more information about the NCPERS open enrollment can contact Carla Anderson at ext. 8871, Carlin Hill at ext. 8012 or Barbara Kantola at ext. 8009 for a brochure. All other employees should contact their respective administrative district office.
Remember, employees who choose not to enroll now will not have another opportunity to purchase the supplemental insurance until the next open enrollment period. Employees who are currently enrolled do not have the opportunity to switch from the $9 plan to the $12 plan, or from the $12 plan to the $16 plan.
