The one-hour sessions will begin at 10 a.m. and at 2 p.m. in the auditorium. Employees are invited to attend the session that is most convenient. All employees are eligible to attend, although the meeting is intended primarily for those who want to explore retirement options and to learn the difference between private and state-sponsored programs.
The session focuses on the similarities and differences of 401 (k) and deferred compensation plans.
“Most employees know what a 401 (k) plan is, however, a large number of employees may know very little about the state of Idaho deferred compensation program,” Williams explains.
“You might be surprised to know that nationally more public employees participate in deferred compensation programs than in any other type of supplemental retirement program. Deferred compensation was created by public employees for public employees, therefore, deferred compensation plans enjoy some special rules that no other tax deferred plans have.”
Williams will return to Headquarters on April 25, 26 to talk with ITD employees about investing for retirement. Individual consultations can be arranged by contacting him at 342-8657, ext. 5, or sending an e-mail message to firstname.lastname@example.org. The PEBSCO representative will answer such questions as: Will you have enough money to retire; do you want to start a payroll deduction; and do you need to make changes to your existing investment.
Employees also may sign up for the individual meetings during the April 14 session.

Sponsored by the ITD employee organization DOROLCO, the event will include arts and crafts items and flea market items (sorry, no used clothing) in the Headquarters lobby. DOROLCO will charge $10 per table, of which 10 percent will be donated to the Idaho Foodbank. Tables must be reserved by April 15; contact Trudi at ext. 8277.
Nachos will be served in the break room from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. DOROLCO members will eat free; non-members will be charged $2.
