Project Description

Location: SH-200 at milepost 42.3
Contractor: Apollo Construction
Contract: $3.4 million
Started: April 15, 2013
Est. Completion: November 2013

The existing 3-span concrete bridge was replaced with a single-span concrete girder bridge. This project also replaced the existing concrete box culvert passing the North Branch of Trestle Creek just to the north. The widened bridge will be centered near the downstream side of the existing structure and will provide for three lanes and shoulders. To improve safety due to recent increases in local area traffic, nearly 0.6 mile of road reconstruction was required to accommodate the center-left-turn lane, minor road realignment and shoulder widening, and adjustments to public and private approaches and mailbox turnouts. The project also included realigning nearly 400 feet of Trestle Creek from the bridge downstream to the railroad crossing.
