Project Number: STP-2390(131) The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) is proposing a major widening and re-alignment of Idaho75 from the city of Shoshone to Thorn Creek Road (mileposts 74-82). Project Background
In the late 1990s, ITD considered improvements to Idaho 75 north of Shoshone to
Timmerman Hill to increase traffic capacity and improve safety. Engineers
determined that only the first eight miles of highway north of Shoshone needed
significant improvements. The remaining 20 miles are adequate to safely handle
existing traffic.
Project Description
The new project on Idaho 75 (milepost 74-82) will:
Construction of the project will be done in two stages. The first is scheduled for spring 2008 with the remainder to be completed in 2010. Funding will determine final scheduling. The first stage will build the new bridges and construct the new roadway almost to 420 North Road. A preliminary Environment Assessment (EA) has been sent to the Federal Highway Administration for approval. Upon approval, this document will be available for public review. A Public Hearing concerning the EA will be held in conjunction with a Public Information meeting in fall 2005. Make Comments
