Maintenance Operations School Outreach Program

Through the Maintenance Operations School Outreach Program, ITD district personnel provide primary school students an opportunity to learn Maintenance Work Zone safety practices. 
In the classroom each student receives a Work Zone Safety Kids´ Activity Book and learns about the type of work maintenance crews do and the equipment they use. After the classroom activities are complete the presentation moves outdoors, where students are shown different types of maintenance equipment. They learn how the equipment works and get a good idea of what the driver can and cannot see when operating the equipment.
