ABOUT US - The Division |

Mission Statement To ensure the effective use of federal, state, and local public transportation funds
and enhance the mobility of Idaho's citizens. This mission is accomplished through planning, grants administration, coordinating
public transportation services and systems, and evaluating transit needs.

Vision Statement We envision leading the state of Idaho in securing fully
coordinated, intermodal and safe public transportation systems, which offer viable choices that are accessible, cost effective, and enhance the
livability of our communities. The division will create approaches that augment greater federal, state, local, and private investments to
promote the public transportation service.

Operating Philosophy We will uphold the corporate values established by the department. Furthermore,
we believe in being responsive to the transit needs of the citizens of Idaho and well informed about public transportation. We are problem
solvers who believe in teamwork and personal commitment, and pay perticular attention to cost effectiveness and fiscal responsibility. We
have respect and appreciation for the public we serve, and are dedicated to provide safe, accessable, convenient, and sensible public and
private transportation choices for all who live and visit Idaho.

Core Responsibilities
- Administer Federal Transit Administration Grant Programs including fiscal and program monitoring, data collection, site visits and
audits. Implementing changes and new requirements to programs.
- Provide Technical Assistance, and Training to Grantee/Local Governments/ and local transit providers.
- Coordinate and participate in planning activities with other divisions, local governments and Metropolitan Planning Organizations.
- Advocate for public transportation at the local, state, and national level to bring necessary resources and program changes to Idaho.
- Work with other state agencies providing public transportation funds to coordinate services and eliminate barriers to coordination.
