Due to increasing traffic demands, the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) reconstructed 4.2 miles of U.S. 95 north of Worley to about one mile north of Idaho 58 to tie into the previously reconstructed roadway. This project realigned, reconstructed, and widened 4.2 miles of U.S. 95, which included three bridges; a retaining wall and a culvert crossing; and constructed an interchange at the U.S. 95 and Idaho 58 junction.

Background

The U.S. 95, Worley to Setters corridor will complete a 21-mile reconstruction effort on U.S. 95 from Worley north to the Mica Creek Bridge. U.S. 95 provides the primary north-south link for northern Idaho commerce, transportation and tourism. The corridor between Worley and Idaho 58 needed to be widened and realigned to accommodate increased traffic.

The Worley to Setters corridor has been divided into two stages. The GARVEE Transportation program provided funding to construct the first stage – 4.2 miles from Worley to one mile north of Idaho 58. Stage 2 includes 1.3 miles of U.S. 95 through Worley and was not funded through the GARVEE bonds.

Schedule

Design and right-of-way activities were completed by District 1 prior to becoming part of the GARVEE Program. Construction began in May 2007 and reached substantial completion is anticipated in September 2009.

The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) is committed to compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and all related regulations and directives. ITD assures that no person shall on the grounds of race, color, national origin, gender, age, or disability be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be otherwise subjected to discrimination under any ITD service, program, or activity. The department also assures that every effort will be made to prevent discrimination through the impacts of its programs, policies, and activities on minority and low-income populations.
