BNSF R.R. Bridge Rathdrum Idaho
Project Description

Location: Rathdrum, Idaho
Contractor: Sletten Construction
Contract: $4.8 million
Started: Spring 2013

This project builds a new bridge over the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad at the Idaho 41/53 junction in Rathdrum, Idaho. There will be intersection improvements and new signalization on each end of the new bridge.

  • The new bridge provides 4 lane traffic and pedestrian/bicycle pathways on each side of the bridge.
  • 2 way traffic and pedestrian/bicycle pathways will remain open during construction. Minor delays will be required during critical portions of the construction.
  • Construction of the new bridge will be in phases to allow the use of the current structure while half of the new bridge is constructed. Once the first half is complete, traffic will be rerouted to the new portion and the current structure will be removed and the new structue will be completed.
