In the State of Idaho, the Idaho Transportation Department / Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) regulates the issuance of Driver Licenses, Identification Cards, Vehicle Registration, and Vehicle Titling.  The 44 County Sheriffs and County Assessors are agents of the State and operate all of the DMV offices serving the general public.  Most Commercial Vehicles (over 64,000 lbs) are registered through the ITD/DMV headquarters office in Boise, Idaho.
